The new trees planted in the winter of 2013 would not have survived through the long dry summer, but thanks to watering every week, none have died by April, 2014. There is a mountain stream nearby and Shadrick and Jose and their watering cans made the difference. They also watered all the trees and shrubs in the top section of the arboretum.
